About CASC
The Coalition for Advancing Scientific Care (CASC) began in 2023 as a small group of Adelaide-based medical professionals, legal practitioners, concerned citizens and parents who are committed to moving the care of gender dysphoric children in Australia from a gender affirmation model (GAM) to an exploratory psychological model (EPM).
CASC successfully facilitated the first Australia colloquium on this question in Adelaide in 2023, where leading Australian clinicians and concerned individuals came together to discuss and plan.
The international moves away from GAM have been steadfastly resisted in Australia, but there is evidence that referrals to gender clinics have fallen in Australia, as publicity in relation to the unscientific nature of GAM grows.
CASC therefore considers the time is ripe for a larger and public conference with international keynote speakers, Australian experts and leaders to inform the public of the issue and increase support for legislative change.
