About CASC

The Coalition for Advancing Scientific Care (CASC) is an Australian organisation dedicated to promoting the prevention or control of gender dysphoria and gender-related distress in children and adolescents.

CASC was formed in 2023, in response to the rapidly growing number of children and adolescents presenting to doctors and gender clinics in Australia with gender dysphoria or gender-related distress.

We work with organisations, experts, academics, and professionals in medicine, science, the law, education, and politics, as well as persons with lived experience, including parents, desisters and detransitioners.

Relying on extensive, reputable research, while closely following international developments, we have concluded that the current prevailing model of care in Australia for gender-related distress among children and adolescents  – known as “Gender-Affirming Care” (GAC) – is unsafe and should no longer be practised in Australia.

Our opposition to GAC is not ideological; it is evidence-based, and founded on the “first, do no harm” approach to medicine when treating all patients, especially children and adolescents.
