Coalition Advancing Scientific Care (CASC) 2026 Gender Healthcare Summit Comes to Adelaide

Adelaide will host the second CASC Gender Healthcare Summit on October 9–10, 2026, bringing together leading international and Australian experts to advance evidence-based care for gender-distressed children and young people.

Held under the theme “Courageous Conversations. Better Care.”, the conference will provide a forum for clinicians, researchers and policymakers to engage in thoughtful discussion focused on improving outcomes for young people and their families.

The 2026 Summit will feature keynote presentations from internationally recognised experts:

Stella O’Malley (Ireland) – psychotherapist, bestselling author, and founder of Genspect – is widely known for her work supporting adolescents and parents navigating gender distress. Through her clinical practice, writing and advocacy, she has contributed significantly to global conversations about developmentally-informed therapeutic approaches that prioritise long-term wellbeing.

Professor Sallie Baxendale (UK) – Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist at University College London Hospitals and Professor at UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology is a leading voice in evidence-based clinical practice. Her work critically examines the evidence base underpinning medical interventions, including puberty blockers, with a focus on informed consent, cognitive outcomes and ethical standards in clinical research.

Marcus Evans and Susan Evans (UK) – internationally recognised for their role as NHS Tavistock whistleblowers after Susan raised alarm over the gender clinic over 20 years ago. Susan and Marcus have contributed to raising awareness of clinical governance concerns and the importance of rigorous assessment and safeguarding in the treatment of young people with gender-related distress. Their work has informed ongoing international discussions about standards of care and service oversight.

The Summit will also feature a distinguished faculty of experts across clinical psychology, psychotherapy, law and child development, reflecting the complexity of gender distress and the need for informed care.
