Coalition Advancing Scientific Care (CASC) 2026 Gender Healthcare Summit — Terms and Conditions of Attendance

(In the terms and conditions below, ‘Conference” means the CASC 2026 Gender Healthcare Summit, and ‘Venue’ means the venue where the CASC 2026 Gender Healthcare Summit is held.)

1. Acceptance of these Terms

1.1 By registering for, purchasing a ticket to, attending or participating in the Conference, each attendee agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1.2 These Terms apply to all attendees, speakers, presenters, exhibitors, sponsors, guests, contractors and other persons attending or participating in the Conference.

1.3 CASC reserves the right to amend these Terms where reasonably necessary for the proper, safe and orderly conduct of the Conference.

2. Registration and Admission

2.1 Registration is personal to the registered attendee and may not be transferred without the prior approval of CASC.

2.2 CASC and/or the Venue reserves the right to refuse admission to, or require the departure of, any person whose conduct is reasonably considered to be inappropriate, disruptive, threatening or inconsistent with the proper conduct of the Conference.

2.3 Attendees must comply with all reasonable directions given by CASC, Venue management, security personnel and other persons authorised by CASC.

3. Professional and Respectful Conduct

3.1 The Conference is intended to facilitate professional discussion, debate and the exchange of information. Attendees are expected to conduct themselves accordingly.

3.2 Attendees must not engage in conduct that:

(a) disrupts, obstructs or interferes with the Conference, a presentation, panel discussion, workshop or other scheduled activity;

(b) prevents or substantially interferes with another attendee's ability to hear, observe or participate in the Conference;

(c) involves threatening, intimidating, abusive, violent or aggressive behaviour;

(d) involves harassment, bullying or unlawful discrimination;

(e) involves heckling, chanting, shouting, repeated interruption or other conduct which materially interferes with a speaker or presenter;

(f) involves unauthorised protest, demonstration or distribution of material where that conduct disrupts the Conference or interferes with the rights of other attendees;

(g) involves damage to the Venue or its property;

(h) involves possession or use of any prohibited item or substance; or

(i) otherwise materially interferes with the safe, orderly or professional conduct of the Conference.

4. Disruption and Removal from the Venue

4.1 CASC has a zero-tolerance approach to material disruption of the Conference.

4.2 Any person who disrupts the Conference, or who engages in conduct which  CASC reasonably considers likely to disrupt the Conference, may be directed to cease that conduct immediately.

4.3 Where a person continues to disrupt the Conference, refuses to comply with a reasonable direction, or engages in serious or threatening misconduct, that person may be required to leave the Venue immediately at CASC’s direction and in CASC’s absolute discretion.

4.4 A person who is required to leave the Venue under this clause must comply immediately with the direction of CASC, Venue management or security personnel.

4.5 Where reasonably necessary, CASC may arrange for security personnel to escort a person from the Venue.

4.6 A person who has been removed from the Venue will not ordinarily be permitted to return to the Conference on that day unless CASC expressly permits it.

4.7 Where a person's conduct is sufficiently serious, CASC may prohibit that person from attending the remainder of the Conference or future events organised by CASC.

4.8 Nothing in these Terms prevents CASC or the Venue from contacting police or other emergency services where reasonably considered necessary.

5. Right to Debate and Express Views

5.1 Nothing in these Terms is intended to prevent legitimate academic, professional, medical, legal or political discussion or disagreement.

5.2 Attendees are entitled to ask questions, express disagreement with speakers and engage in robust professional debate, provided that they do so in a lawful and reasonably respectful manner and do not materially disrupt the Conference.

5.3 The mere expression of an opinion, disagreement or criticism will not, of itself, constitute disruption.

5.4 CASC may impose reasonable time limits or other procedural requirements on questions, discussion and debate in order to ensure that the Conference can proceed according to its published program.

6. Safety and Security

6.1 Attendees must comply with all reasonable safety and security requirements imposed by the Venue or CASC.

6.2 Attendees must not obstruct entrances, exits, emergency access points, fire equipment or evacuation routes.

6.3 In the event of an emergency, attendees must immediately comply with directions given by Venue staff, security personnel, emergency services or CASC.

7. Recording and Photography

7.1 The presentations at the Conference will be filmed or videoed for legitimate Conference, educational, promotional or archival purposes by CASC and any such film or video will be the sole property of CASC. 

7.2 No attendees at the Conference will be filmed or videoed by CASC.

7.3 All attendees agree that they will not in any way take films, videos, audio recordings or photographs during, before or after the Conference in the Conference room and in the surrounds thereto.  Any breach of this term will be a breach of a fundamental term and may give rise to the attendee’s licence to attend the Conference being revoked.

8. Presentations and Materials

8.1 Presentations and materials provided at the Conference are for educational and professional purposes only.

8.2 The views expressed by Conference speakers and presenters are their own, they do not constitute professional advice, whether legal, medical or other, unless expressly stated otherwise and do not necessarily represent the views of CASC.

8.3 Attendees must not reproduce, publish, distribute or commercially exploit Conference materials without the permission of the relevant copyright owner.

9. Privacy

9.1 Personal information collected in connection with registration and attendance will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and CASC's privacy policy.

9.2 Registration information may be used for purposes reasonably connected with administering the Conference, including registration, security, communications, accreditation and event administration.

10. Cancellation and Changes

10.1 CASC reserves the right to alter the program, speakers, timetable, Venue or other arrangements where reasonably necessary.

10.2 CASC may postpone or cancel the Conference where circumstances reasonably require it, including circumstances involving public safety, emergency, government direction, industrial action, Venue unavailability or other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of CASC.

11. Refunds

11.1 There is a no refund policy for the Conference. 

11.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right to a refund or other remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable Australian consumer law.

12. Liability

12.1 To the extent permitted by law, CASC is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to an attendee's personal property brought to the Conference.

12.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, liability or remedy which cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

13. Compliance with the Law

13.1 All attendees must comply with applicable Australian law and with the lawful requirements of the Venue.

13.2 Nothing in these Terms authorises conduct that would otherwise be unlawful.

14. Removal and Refunds

14.1 Where an attendee is removed from the Conference because of disruptive, threatening, abusive or other serious misconduct, CASC may refuse to provide a refund of the attendee's registration fee, to the extent permitted by law.

14.2 CASC may take into account the seriousness and circumstances of the conduct when determining whether the attendee will be permitted to attend any future Conference or event.

15. Interpretation

15.1 CASC will administer these Terms reasonably and proportionately having regard to the circumstances.

15.2 Where there is any conflict between these Terms and a reasonable direction given by Venue management or security personnel for immediate safety or security purposes, the direction must be followed.

15.3 These Terms are governed by the laws of the State or Territory in which the Conference is held.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ATTENDEES

This is a professional conference. Robust discussion, disagreement and questioning of speakers are welcome. Disruption is not.

Any attendee who in the reasonable opinion of CASC or the Venue materially disrupts the Conference, refuses a reasonable direction to cease disruptive conduct, or engages in threatening, abusive or seriously inappropriate conduct may be required to leave the Venue immediately. Security personnel may be called upon to enforce that direction.
